Staffing Announcement
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Kerri Kerr to the teaching staff from 2026. Kerri is currently the Coordinator at St Jude's in Holder and is a Highly Accomplished certified teacher with over 20 years of experience in our system. She will be an asset to our school community and we look forward to welcoming her to our Step Up Afternoon on December 16.
Class Placements for 2026
The Leadership Team and staff will soon begin the process of creating class groups in Year 1, 3/4 and 5/6 for next year. When compiling classes, we take into consideration several factors. To support our students, we will invite them to write 5 friends that they would like to see in their class for next year. When creating the classes, our staff will ensure each student has at least one friend from their list, therefore we will not accept requests for your child to be placed with a specific student.
We believe that every teacher at our school is able to teach any child and will therefore not accept requests for specific teachers.
If there is information regarding your child and their class placement that you feel the school is not already aware of and would like considered, please email it to me by the end of next week.
Teachers are unable to take requests from parents for class placements.
The students will be told their class before our Step Up Afternoon on Tuesday 16 December.
Dance Display
We look forward to performing our school dance display tomorrow. The gates will open at 5:45pm for students to head to their classrooms and guests to take their seats. It is sure to be a wonderful celebration of our students gifts and talents.
Workng Bee - RSVP
On Friday 14 November from 3:30-5:00pm we will hold a Twilight Working Bee for the first time in our recent history. This was suggested following the success of our Working Bee in March and acknowledging that it can be challenging for Mr Owen to tackle the grounds during spring. Please complete the RSVP here if you are available to attend: https://forms.gle/ngWU7bbZkfvPyJGL9
Year 6 2026 School Leadership
The process for developing our students leadership has commenced in the 5/6 classrooms. This is a time for our Year 5 students to begin making decisions about the capacity they have for leadership and if they would like to nominate for a captain role. It is also a time for our Year 6 students to reflect on their leadership at St Thomas More's as they prepare for High School.
