Orienteering

STM entered two teams in the Canberra School Orienteering Relay competition.  The competition ran over four weeks before school on four Thursday mornings  at  schools in the inner north (including STM in the first week).  Pictured here are the two teams with Kya, Yr 3, May, Yr 3, Dom, Yr 4, Nicholas, Yr 4, Ned, Yr 3, Thomas, Yr 3, Leah, Yr 4 and Alice, Yr 5 at the end of the competition.  With not much orienteering experience before this competition the children did really well in reading the maps and running from check point to check point.  Both a brain and body workout before school started.

Stay tuned in 2020 if ACT Orienteering run the school competition again - teams are made up of four children from years 3 to 6 with two boys and two girls in each team.
