2025 Student Citizenship Awards
We are thrilled to announce that the Mini Vinnies team have received a 2025 Student Citizenship Award from the Order of Australia ACT branch. Penny Vanzwol, who heads up the team, and two students have been invited to attend the awards ceremony on August 20 with the Governor General. This is a wonderful accolade for the work we are doing within our community. Congratulations Penny and team for this award!
Called to Care Meals
In recent weeks our Called to Care Meal Bank has been completely depleted. We would greatly appreciate any families who have the capacity to cook frozen meals, even if it's one from an evening meal being doubled, to drop frozen meals with labelled ingredients lists to the front office. There are many reasons we provide this pastoral care to those in our community and it as always very well received.
Colour Run 2025 - Calling for Sponsors
Our Colour Run for 2025 is being held on the final day of term on Thursday 27 September. As we prepare to launch the Colour Run, we are calling for sponsors to donate prizes and/or funds to purchase prizes. If you know of a business who would be able to support our school, please let us know. We will launch the Colour Run on Wednesday 27 August.
Carpark Design
We are pleased to provide the final designs of our top carpark to our community for your information. The carpark was designed in collaboration with our community council, parish council and the Military Ordinariate. We are currently engaging in a procurement process for the works to be completed and would hope this occurs by the start of the 2026 school year.
The Science Fair is fast approaching! Entries will be dropped off at the Hall next Friday from 8:20am so that the students can attend the fair during the day. The fair will be open to families from 3:00-3:30pm. Entries will need to be taken home at the conclusion of the fair.
Enrolments for 2026
We know that the power of Word of Mouth has been present in our community as we have had many families enrol who have heard about St Thomas More's from you. With the addition of a Year 1 class in 2026, we are asking families to continue to spread the word about the high quality education and community engagement students experience at St Thomas More's. Places for Year 1 and Years 3/4 are still available!
